First tip: Hotswap Hotswap Hotswap switches
Fact is, you don't know what your favorite switches are going to be when you just start out and you're gonna wanna try a number. And trying means more than just pressing a tester a few times. I bought an expensive Tab 90m early on only to find out I didn't like the switches on it. Thankfully I was able to return it, but you don't need to tie yourself to a particular switch early on when you're still exploring, especially if it's an expensive board.
