As the role of a financial analyst is the crucial one, it gets very important to find the right candidate for the job. Dimitri Zafirov is one of the best financial analysts, who have all the needed knowledge of his field. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in accounting from Anderson School of Business. His academic qualifications make him an ideal financial analyst. He graduated from Concordia University and earned his master’s from the Montreal Institute of Economics. He also has an additional computer science diploma, which he got from Dawson College.

Dimitri got two academic awards when he was at Montreal University, one was for getting the highest GPA, and another was for presenting an excellent thesis during his master’s degree. After completing his master’s, Dimitri worked as an assistant researcher at Letko-Brosseau. During his time in Letko-Brosseau, he took many international projects.

About Dimitri Zafirov

With a focus on machine learning and macroeconomic accounting, Dimitri Zafirov is currently working toward a PhD in accounting at the University of California, Los Angeles. Throughout his career, Dimitri Zafirov has held numerous research positions in the field of economics.

Most recently, Dimitri Zafirov served as a research assistant at H.E.C. Montreal. Utilizing such software as LateX and Python, he analyzed the effects of minimum wage changes on large US retailers and their employees in collaboration with Northwestern-Kellogg. The study linked human resources data, including employee turnover and overall revenues, from roughly 5,000 retailers. While carrying out this research, he also participated in another research project at MOVE, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, focusing on government debt management in the United States.

From 2012 to 2013, he supported research on the state of unemployment benefits in the US at the Institute of Applied Economics at H.E.C. Montreal. The work resulted in multiple published papers, including “Unemployment Insurance with Limited Commitment Wage Contracts & Savings,” by professor Rigas Oikonomou. Among his early research positions, he served as a research assistant at Equity Research, a department within Scotiabank. In this position, he focused on portfolio strategy from 2010 to 2011.
